A King Size Mattress For a Big Bedroom
A common mattress that we see everyday can be made of
multiple layers of foams, natural or synthetic fibers, and springs. They
come in various sizes, but when it comes to big bedrooms, the one that
matters is a king size mattress. A typical king size mattress is
commercially the largest we can find in the common market.
Normally this king size mattress, just like any other mattress, would be
placed on top of a bed platform to raise it higher than the ground. Or
alternatively in some urban houses, this mattress can be put straight on
to the floor. The bed on which this king size mattress is placed would
usually be very large, and in fact is the largest in all the sizes of
beds.
The Various Types and Sizes
A king size mattress these days can be found in many forms of support
systems, which include air, water, foam or springs. Generally there are
four types of king size mattresses, which are king, California king,
super king, and grand king. Of the four, only one, the king, can be
found outside the Northern America and Europe. All three except super
king can generally be found in any store selling mattresses countrywide.
A typical king size mattress is 76 inches wide and 80 inches long in the
United States and Canada. In Europe, this mattress is slightly smaller,
which is 60 inches wide and 75 inches long. In other parts of the world,
mainly Asia, this mattress has the dimension of 72 inches wide and 78
inches long.
The next one in size is California King Size mattress. This mattress is
limited to United States and Canada only. It typically is 72 inches wide
and 84 inches long.
Another king size mattress which is limited to the Northern America only
would be the grand king. As the name would suggest, this mattress is
indeed the grandest, meaning the largest of them all: 80 inches wide and
98 inches long.
Super king is the final type of king size mattress. This mattress is,
however, only limited to Europe and not available even in the United
States. Slightly smaller than the California king, it is 72 inches wide
and 78 inches long, which is the same as the Asian King size mattress.
The large width and length of this mattress is very convenient for tall
people, especially the Americans and Europeans in general. The thickness
makes this mattress last very long as well. Indeed, the main benefit of
the king size mattress is the size. |
